The O.C. Fair is Here!

The Orange County Fair is rolling into town. Opening July 13, the fair will run until August 12, at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. The Fair brings with it smells of fried foods, a wide range of rides and entertainment, and the chance to flex your green thumb or baking prowess. This year’s theme is “Free Your Inner Farmer,” which means that if you show up in your overalls any Wednesday, you get in free! The OC Fair is a time-honored tradition of summer fun. Nothing says summer like a county fair!

Hours + Admission

The fair is open Wednesday to Friday 10am to midnight, and 11am to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for youth (age 6-12) and seniors (60+) on weekdays. Weekends are $14 for adults and $7 for youth and seniors. Or, get a Superpass and pay $40 for all 23 days of the fair.

Food Items

Where do we even start with this year’s new food items? With the spaghetti donut from Pignotti’s? Or the Caramel Crack Fries (appropriately named) and their caramel buttery goodness? And for all of the Boba tea lovers, a wide selection of flavors. Don’t miss out on the toppings bar for the Fair’s famous cinnamon rolls. Looking for your old favorites? Rediscover the fair’s BBQ Chicken, grilled corn, tri-tip, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, and turkey legs. On Thursdays, attend the $3 Taste of Fair Food! Our advice? Bring your appetite with you!

Competitions

Feeling competitive? Enter a competition for baking, flower arrangements, SPAM, table settings, and more! Deadlines are from now to early August. See information on all competitions here.

Charities

The OC Fair goes above and beyond every year by partnering with local charities. Each Wednesday, “We Care Wednesday,” get one free admission and one carnival ride per person by bringing in a variety of donations. July 18 bring new school supplies valued at $5 or more, to be donated to Share Our Selves. July 25 bring in 5 canned food items to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. On August 1, give 3 new or gently used children’s books to THINK Together. And on August 8, contribute five gently used clothing items to Goodwill OC. The partnership between the OC Fair and local nonprofits is just another way the OC Fair brings together the local community.

Summer is also a great time to check up on your insurance policies. Did you treat your family to a new jet ski? Upgrade the swimming pool? Install an outdoor kitchen? These are all reasons to call your insurance agent. A call to BMR to review your policy is free, no matter if your policy is with us or not. Call 714-838-1911 or email us now.
