If You Play, You Will Pay: Driving Under the Influence in California

Been drinking? Please take a taxi.

A recent study conducted statewide attempted to determine the extent to which drivers were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. This was a voluntary test conducted to get real numbers about drivers driving under influence of a foreign substance such as alcohol or illegal drugs, including marijuana, prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.

This was a weekend test at locations in nine California cities. The results? Fourteen percent of the 1,300 drivers tested positive for driving under the influence of illegal and/or prescription drugs. Most prevalent was marijuana with 7.4 percent. The Sad Realities of Texting While Driving

In this local collision on Laguna Canyon Road recently, two lives were lost and the one life that was spared will never be the same. No, we rarely have to do this, but we do feel a little winter cold in Orange County! Our sympathies to those caught in the snow storm last week.
